Overview
Thorold Generating Station is a 265 MW combined-cycle natural gas facility located in Thorold, Ontario that provides responsive power to support the province’s grid stability. Fully owned and operated by Northland Power, Thorold was commissioned in 2010 and completed a 23 MW capacity upgrade in November 2024. The facility is fully contracted with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) until 2035.
